    Reclaiming Our King: the Radical Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr

    "RECLAIMING OUR KING: THE RADICAL LEGACY OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR." --- Get inspired by the radical legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

    Activities include:

    Keynote address “Kent Ford, Elder Street Fightin' Statesman.” Kent Ford is a founding member of the Portland Chapter of the Black Panther Party. A longtime community activist, he helped organize the Fred Hampton Memorial People's Health Clinic and Free Breakfast Program in Portland.

    Community reading of Martin Luther King Jr.’s "Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence."

    Anakbayan Portland member speaks about its "Take Back our Education" platform and black/Filipino solidarity.

    Art & Activism: Create the Change - Sue Clancy & recognizing people of all abilities

    Join Salmon Creek Journal and Student Diversity Center in welcoming, Sue Clancy, illustrator and guest speaker for our event. Clancy will speak about her most recent work "Heroes' Journey" and its message in creating an inclusive community that recognizes people of all abilities.

    Clancy's art will be revealed at the event along with two other submissions that will be showcased on the FSC Wall for the month of October. There will be food, music, and several chances to win swag items.
