    The Community Alliance of Tenants' Salsa Party & fundraiser

    The Community Alliance of Tenants will celebrate its 21st anniversary with a Salsa Party at the Billy Webb Elks Lodge in Portland on Friday, December 8th, 2017.

    CAT’s Salsa Party is open to all ages and community members. Space is limited so please purchase tickets in advance. The event offers a light dinner buffet, a short program, one-hour of salsa lesson and a full cash bar. CAT will present our annual Tenant Hero Award to an outstanding tenant activist for housing justice.

    This event is CAT’s biggest fundraiser of the year and the proceeds support our critical programs to educate and empower tenants working to secure affordable, stable and safe rental homes. Celebrate 21 years of hard work and huge housing victories with CAT and enjoy a fun evening of dancing with your family, friends, and neighbors.

    NAACP Portland Branch 103 Year Anniversary: Let's Celebrate!

    Help support the work of the NAACP Portland Branch! We will be celebrating our 103rd year of service in Portland!

    Join us at the Billy Webb Elks Lodge to help us honor beloved community members whose work embodies the NAACP mission to ensure racial justice for all people across Oregon. Remarks will also focus on the critical work ahead that we will overcome together.

    Proceeds from the night will go towards supporting NAACP Public Programming and the NAACP Youth Council!

    The 103rd Gala will be a spectacular cocktail attire event. Doors open at 6, but event doesn't officially start until 6:30. The event will include hors d'oeuvres, and the bar will be open for service.

    The Destruction of Albina: Lecture, Experience and Discussion

    The City of Portland, under the leadership of Mayor Ted Wheeler and in partnership with PDC (now Prosper Portland) and Emanuel Hospital, want to give back to Portland's Black community after recognizing decades of damage. During the 1960's and 70's, the City of Portland, Emanuel Hospital, Portland Housing Authority (now Home Forward) and other agencies conspired to kick Black residents and businesses out of the Albina neighborhood.

    Now, they say, they want you back!

    To learn more attend "The Destruction of Albina: Lecture, Experience and Discussion" on Saturday October 21, 2017 beginning at 2pm at the Elks Lodge located at 6 N. Tillamook. We hope to see you there.

    The Les Femmes Organization's All White Party

    This event is an annual fundraiser for the Les Femmes Organization. The proceeds of this fundraiser will assist programming and scholarship to young women 6th - 12th grades who active serve the community. It is an old school, 21 and over and all white dress attire event. Limited tickets will be sold for this event.
