¡El Grito! Festival Comunitario in Hillsboro
    free

Centro Cultural de Washington County and the City of Hillsboro proudly announce a new partnership to produce the all-new "El Grito” Community Celebration at Hillsboro’s Shute Park on September 16, 2017. The festival will include family activities, regional Latin food options, a concert, and a traditional "Grito" Ceremony. Thousands are expected to participate in the event, which kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, and will run from 1 pm to 9 pm.

El Grito Shute Park – Parque del Indio 750 SE 8th Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123 Saturday, September 16, 2017 1:00 – 9:00 PM

The all-new El Grito event is the successor to Centro Cultural’s “El Grito de la Independencia Festival", which previously took place in Cornelius at Centro Cultural’s main campus. The decision to move the event to Hillsboro’s Shute Park will allow the El Grito event to grow and engage new community members in appreciation of cultural equity and heritage in Washington County.

    Resistance Summer Community Cookout

RESISTANCE SUMMER COMMUNITY COOKOUTS Since November, Americans have been engaged in nonstop resistance to the dangerous rhetoric and actions of the Trump administration and the GOP. Millions of us have marched, protested, called, written, and otherwise stood up. It's time to take a moment and celebrate what we’ve achieved — and recharge for the work ahead — with a summer social gathering: a Resistance Summer Community Cookout!

The Resistance Summer Community Cookouts are an opportunity for a range of local and national partner groups in the Resistance to come together with friends old and new. We'll build our relationships and celebrate the diversity that makes us stronger. Our goal is to encourage taking care of ourselves and each other, to celebrate all we've achieved, and to enjoy ourselves! These are ways to reinforce the resilience of the Resistance and help us to stay in it for the long haul.

    When: Sunday, July 2 at 5 p.m.

Where: Hillsboro Shute Park Shelter C 750 SE 8th Ave Hillsboro, OR 97123

    Host: Renee R.
