Resistance Forums: Multnomah County Commissioner District 2

The Democratic Socialist of America Portland Chapter, The Multnomah County Democrats Community Action Committee, Portland’s Resistance, and The Oregon Working Families Party will be co-hosting forums for four important races in the upcoming May elections. While May elections often see lower voter turnout, engagement, and coverage, they are in many cases even more important than November elections. Our organizations are unified in resistance of the federal administration and hope to hold events in that shared spirit. Our country is at a crossroads and Oregon voters need to know the vision that candidates have for our region’s future.

Current candidates invited to this forum are:

    • Maria Garcia
    • Susheela Jayapal
    • Bruce Broussard
    • Sharon Maxwell
    • Charles McGee

The forums will be every Tuesday in February at different locations throughout the City.

    • February 6, 2018: Oregon State Senate District 24
    • February 13, 2018: Multnomah County Commissioner Position 2
    • February 20, 2018: Portland City Council Position 3
    • February 27, 2018: Portland City Council Position 2

More details will be released in the following weeks. We look forward to providing a platform for our varied communities to be heard in these elections.

Hygiene & Homelessness: We want hygiene access & we want it now!

Sisters of the Road believes that everyone has the right to a dignified place to use the restroom, take a shower, and a place to wash their clothes. But in Portland, there is limited access. We need immediate solutions that create opportunities for our communities to work toward increased hygiene access for the longterm, FOR ALL!

Help us build a community response that is humane, dignified, and informed - from the ground up!

We want hygiene access and we want it now! Please join us for a presentation and dialogue on homelessness and the lack of access to human necessities.
