Revolutionary Reading: How Europe Underveloped Africa

Why in the "West" do we talk about Africa as an unknown, unremarkable place? What are we not told about the history of that continent?

Two weeks ago we read the first chapter of Rodney's incredible book, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa (http://abahlali.org/files/3295358-walter-rodney.pdf). In chapter two, Rodney tells how African nations developed, thrived, and spread before the arrival of European colonialism.

Drinks and snax are available for purchase from the workers of Southeast Grind, and we will be putting together a small communal fund to help folks pay for them if they don't have the money!

Watch this event every other week for more links and questions to consider as we discuss this work!
