Blue Lake Summer Salsa Food Drive for the Oregon Food Bank

The date has been set. MARK YOUR SUMMER CALENDAR for SUNDAY JULY 23rd!

Back for a 6th year. With your help we are ready to top last year’s food collection for the Oregon Food Bank of 906 Lbs. Would LOVE to make it over 1,000 Lbs this year. So if you joined us last year PLEASE join us again. If you didn’t, this is the year to add us to your summer must do events list :-)

DJ Armando and Seattle’s DJ Edgar Evangelista are joining forces yet again to keep the party moving all day long with the best salsa, bachata, cha-cha-cha, kizomba, and merengue music.

There is no charge for this event, but it is a FOOD DRIVE, so be sure to bring a food donation for the Oregon Food Bank. Also, the park charges a $5 per car admittance fee, so carpooling is encouraged.

This event is open to Everyone! Be sure to invite your friends, your family, your neighbors, and anyone else who might enjoy a day at the park for a good cause. The park does not allow pets though, so they will have to wait for you at home.

DETAILS: ~ We will be in the Celilo Shelter again ~ Dance floor will be set up ~ Bring A food donation for the Oregon Food Bank ~ Bring a food item for the Potluck & eating utensils for yourself ~ Bar-B-Ques will be going for your use ~ There is table seating for 120. ~ There is grass space for blankets/lawn chairs. ~ There is a volleyball court at the shelter ~ Next to the shelter is a kid’s play area ~ Near the shelter there is a water playground ~ Bring your own beverage ~ Beer/Wine can be brought for personnel consumption, but HAS to stay within the Celilo Shelter.

We will be taking donations in cash, canned food, clothing (new packs of socks and underwear), and paper goods (toilet paper / feminine hygiene products). There will also be some items for sale that were donated by various business in town.

¿Qué es? El 22 de octubre volvemos a realizar la Actividad Mundial en denuncia a la Crisis Humanitaria en Venezuela, recolectando insumos básicos necesarios para abastecer a la población venezolana afectada. Los venezolanos y aliados de la región metropolitana de Portland nos uniremos el 22 de octubre en dicha ubicación para recibir sus donaciones de insumos médicos y alimenticios - especialmente para los infantes. Por favor, vengan al evento domingo, el 22 de octubre, para juntos crear un futuro más pleno para Venezuela.

¿Qué se necesita? Esta no es una lista completa, pero lo básico que se necesita: insumos para infantes (0-3 años), pañales, leche, suero infantil, vitaminas, cereal para bebés, cremas para pañalitis, etc.

What is this event about? On October 22nd we will have a second World Activity to denounce the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, collecting basic medical supplies and foodstuffs to send to the affected Venezuelan population. Venezuelans and allies from the metropolitan Portland area will come together on October 22nd in the assigned location to receive your donations of medical supplies and food - especially for infants. Please come to this event so we can create a more equitable and safe future for Venezuela!

What supplies are needed? This is not a complete list, but the most accessible supplies we need are: baby supplies (0-3 years), diapers, milk, baby formula, vitamins, cereal-based foods for infants, diaper rash ointment, etc.
