Promised Land at Portland EcoFilm Festival
The Hollywood Theatre

Benefit screening: 100% of ticket sales donated to Chinook Indian Nation's legal fund! PROMISED LAND centers on two indigenous tribes of the Pacific Northwest: the Duwamish and the Chinook Indian Nation, as they both fight for the restoration of treaty rights still legally denied to them by the US government. The film is an exploration of the inseparability of identity and place, the ways society and government look at tribal sovereignty, and a deep look at whose land we inhabit.

Presented in partnership with Tall Firs Cinema, the Oregon Chapter of the Sierra Club, Columbia Riverkeeper, Greenpeace Pacific Northwest, Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Climate Solutions. All tickets sales will be donated to the Chinook Nation's legal fund. If you wish to make an additional donation to the fund: http://www.chinooknation.org/contribute-paypal.html
