High and Low Art Space and Gallery, 936 SE 34th
936 SE 34th Avenue
Portland, OR 97214, US (map)

The Whitenoise project is a reading and discussion series aiming to center voices from underrepesented communities (PoC, Queer, Femme, and people with disabilities).

Neil Aitken / Jenna Marie Fletcher / Pamela K. Santos + open mic!

This month we will also start out with an open mic, so please bring a poem or two to share!

Neil Aitken is the author of two books of poetry, The Lost Country of Sight (Anhinga 2008), which won the Philip Levine Prize, and Babbage’s Dream (Sundress 2017), as well as a chapbook of poetry, Leviathan (Hyacinth Girl Press 2016). He is the founding editor of Boxcar Poetry Review and his own poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Adroit Journal, American Literary Review, Ninth Letter, Southern Poetry Review, and other literary journals.

Jenna Marie Fletcher is a writer, talker and chronic-dabbler based out of Portland, OR. Mostly interested in vaguely romantic experiences, sharp things, and telling a good story, her work circles around the messy intersections of race, queerness, and chronic illness. Poetry, essays and weird art can be found all over the internet and in print; many different places all with the same aim – to try to take up space and to take up space by trying. whatsmineisyrs.com

Pamela K. Santos is a sometime writer, full-time KBOO community radio membership director, forever mom, and all-the-time radio host/producer who talks an inordinate amount about being from Queens, NY. She is always judging your food, but you can judge her food chronicled as #BombArchipelagoEats on IG @archipelagoeats, random tweets @pamelaksantos on Twitter and web home pamelaksantos.com.

All ages! ~ $5-10 suggested donation to support the artists. Note: it is ADA accessible, but no ADA bathrooms. Also, please dress warmly because the gallery is a little drafty.
