Description

A BUDGET IS A MORAL DOCUMENT

Have you ever wondered how TriMet makes spending decisions? We've studied the budget for 2017-2018 so you don't have to! It's time for our annnual bean count, where we use a whole bunch of jellybeans and a lot of community participation to show you how TriMet chooses to fund projects (like an $11M transit police detention and interrogration facility, or a $22M e-fare system) or to not fund projects (like reduced fares for low-income riders, or expansion of the YouthPass program).

Join Bus Riders Unite as we break down the budget and show you where TriMet's morals are... not just where they SAY they are, but where they actually choose to spend public dollars.

Translation and child care available upon request. Food will be provided - please contact us with any other requests to make this event accessible. OPAL's offices and bathroom are ADA accessible. We want you there!
