Black Student Union and Muslim Student Association recognize the intersections of being Black and Muslim and being a student in higher ed and trying to navigate a white supremacist, capitalistic, patriarchal system.

The purpose fo this event is to learn of black resistance in the past and present and listen to stories of strong black leaders, including strong black muslim leaders who fought and made change in their communities.

( Those without children: Please be mindful that some community members may not be able to find childcare, please respect their time and resilience in being child care providers while also being learners. Those with children: please make sure that we respect time and learning space of those attending, if you need to step out to take care of yourself or child please do so).
