Every Worker Needs A Home

Martin Luther King Statue at the Convention Center MAX Station
NE MLK and NE Holladay
Portland, OR 97232 (map)

Did you know that 70% of fast food workers are over 20? That they rarely make enough to meet the rent or basic costs of living? That a third of those workers have at least some college education? That 1 in 4 have children at home they have to feed on their wages?

Burgerville bills itself as "fresh, local, and sustainable." In order to truly commit to that mission, its workers need to be able to making living wages.

Join The Community Alliance of Tenants and the Burgerville Workers Union, a chapter of the Portland IWW for a day of action to support workers and achieving their cost of living.

The rent is too high, and the wages are too low - and something here has got to give!

This event is part of Oregon Renter Week of Action, a part of the national Renter Week of Action & Assemblies! hosted by Homes For All / Hogares Para Todxs. #RenterWeekOfAction

Meet at the MLK statue in front of the Oregon Convention Center at 5:30 to prepare. At 6, we will march to the MLK Burgerville location.
