Recruiting, and Empowering Black Political Leadership

Washington County Democratic Black American Caucus, Hillsboro
143 Northeast 3rd Avenue
Hillsboro, OR 97124, US (map)

We are the Black American Caucus of the Washington County Democratic Party.

Thanks for those of you who turned out for our meeting on Thursday. For those of you who were not able to attend, we had powerful conversations revolving around the importance of Black leadership and running for office.

We talked about "Root Causes" such as the 1787 development of the US Constitution and its 3/5 human clause and how this led to the 14th Amendments of the Bill of Rights in 1791. However, these amendments did not meet its objectives because Blacks were and are still deprived of social, racial, political, and economic equality, equity, and justice on all fronts of our society.

These injustices and exclusionary practices, laws, and institutionalized policies developed and implemented by the White majority are the primary reasons for which reflect why Blacks should be recruited, trained, encouraged, and empowered to become the leaders of today and tomorrow.

With this change comes different visions, advanced opportunities with similar values and profound insights about understanding America's cultural differences and thinkology. We will continue this conversation at our next scheduled meeting at the Hillsboro Office located at 143 NE 3rd Avenue 503-626-7018. When: Thurs. Sept. 21, 2017. Time: 7-8:30 pm.

We are still asking for your support by showing up and sharing your concerns, interests, and vision to make our goals and objectives a recognized achievable outcome. Our lives depend on it! Participation is key! Let us lead the way!
